Our Story

Adopting Couture has been 5 years in the making.  However, we did not know this journey was going to be a part of our future at that time.  We decided to start a family 9 months after we were married in the fall of 2002, and thought it would happen right away.  Unfortunately, that was not the case.  We experienced a lot of heartache.  After our second miscarriage, and age being a factor, we decided to see a fertility specialist.  The specialist informed us that IVF would be our best chance for a family.  After two failed IVF's, we conceived on our own and miscarried again.  At that point, we decided to use donor eggs.  After several months, our first donor just disappeared.  With our second donor, the process was going according to plan.  But our bad luck continued, and two days before the retrieval, she ovulated on her own and the retrieval was not possible.  We were devastated!!!  One month later "MUCH TO OUR SURPRISE" we got pregnant on our own.  We thought things were going well until the ultrasound.  We were informed that the heart beat was not strong and we would probably miscarry.  Two weeks later the sad news came.  It was at that time in our lives that we decided not to give up on our dreams of becoming parents, so we decided to "ADOPT".

In 2005 we began the adoption process, finished our dossier, and submitted it to China in July of 2006.  It is now our turn to be expecting a child.  All of our friends were becoming pregnant, and seeing how everyone reacted to them with happiness, and asking them when they were due, we wanted to find a way for everyone to know we were expecting a child as well.  Since we were expecting, but through adopting, no one knew unless we told them.  We decided it was time for the adopting parent to be able to show off that they too are expecting.  It was with that in mind we created Adopting Couture.  We wanted to create fun, unique, and hip apparel line suitable for everyone, whether they are men, women, have adopted a child, in the process of adopting a child, been adopted or simply support adoption.
